Cosmetic dentistry at Superior Smiles

Did you know that one in four of us in the UK are unhappy with our smile? With advances in modern dentistry, it’s no longer just a case of filling and taking out teeth. Cosmetic dentistry, or ‘aesthetic dentistry’, is used as a means of improving the appearance of teeth. Used to straighten, reshape, lighten and repair teeth, cosmetic dentistry should always aim to produce natural-looking results for patients. Our wide range of effective cosmetic treatments can help you with your discoloured, worn, chipped or crooked teeth.

A perfect smile could help land you that new job, or make the right impression when it counts. After all, one of the first things people notice about you is your smile. That’s why at Superior Smiles we understand how important it is to smile with confidence.

Smile makeovers

Smile makeovers are our specialty! We love helping you achieve the results you're after and in turn making you look and feel great.

We’ve a comprehensive selection of treatments designed to give you the ultimate Smile Makeover. We use the latest innovations in dental treatment guaranteed to deliver the best possible results, including teeth whitening, dental veneers, composite bonding and teeth straightening options such as Invisalign® and dental implants.

We work with you to create your very own Smile Makeover plan, often encompassing several techniques and treatments to ensure you get maximum results.

Once your dentist has discussed the most appropriate treatment options, your treatment co-ordinator will help you to make an informed choice about these options and will be available to discuss every stage of treatment with you.

Adult orthodontics

Orthodontics is a specialist area of dentistry focused on the correction of uneven teeth, moving teeth and crowded mouths. In turn this will help improve the function and appearance of teeth as well as look after the long-term health of teeth, gums and jaw joints.

Orthodontists use a variety of different brace styles and systems to move teeth into a desired position. We’ve a selection of short term orthodontic treatments available designed to help improve the appearance of your teeth, without interfering with your lifestyle.

Invisalign®

Shhh... There's little secret we want to share with you. You no longer need a standard dental brace to achieve a straighter, more attractive smile. Invisalign® is an invisible solution that's discreet, removable and far more comfortable than the standard brace.

Invisalign® is a gradual method of straightening your teeth in an almost invisible way. Under our recommendation it can help treat a wide range of orthodontic concerns including crooked teeth, gaps and crowded mouth. Invisalign® uses a series of custom-made clear trays called aligners. They're discreet, comfortable and removable to fit in with you and your lifestyle.

Dental veneers

A veneer is a clever way of disguising your dental imperfections, including discolouration and chipped or cracked teeth. Veneers provide a great long-term solution as they're hard-wearing, long-lasting and go unnoticed.

A veneer is very thin porcelain sleeve that cleverly fits over the front teeth, fitting precisely to give you a natural look and feel. The procedure has a short-term treatment plan, with minimal invasiveness, leaving you looking and feeling more confident in no time!

Inlays and onlays

Inlays and onlays are two types of restorations that your dentist can suggest if you have a cavity in your tooth that needs to be filled.

  • An inlay is a small filling that fits into the biting surface of a tooth.
  • An onlay covers a larger area of the tooth and is better suited to bigger cavities.

For many years, gold has been used to make inlays and onlays because it is a hard material and lasts for a long time. Nowadays, tooth-coloured porcelain is also used and gives the restored tooth a more natural look, which many patients prefer.

Cosmetic bonding

Cosmetic dental bonding is a tooth-colored, putty-like resin, which is a durable plastic material. It is applied to the tooth and hardened with an ultraviolet or laser light, bonding the material to the tooth. Your dentist then trims, shapes, and polishes it. Bonding can repair decayed, chipped, cracked, or misshapen teeth; it is also a good cosmetic alternative to, or replacement for, amalgam or silver fillings. Typically, dental bonding takes about 30 to 60 minutes.
